Conor McGregor has declared his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier is OFF in an expletive-laden rant online.

McGregor took to social media to hit back at Poirier’s recent claims that the Irishman hadn’t delivered on his vow to donate $500,000 to his charitable organisation – the Good Fight Foundation.

Having lost to Poirier in January to make it 1-1 between the pair, they were ready to meet again on July 10.

But McGregor tweeted: “You’re ripped you inbred hillbilly. Why do you wink with your ears?

“You f****** brain dead hillbilly. $500k with no plan in place. Ye hang tight. Fool.

“You must be new to money. The fight is off btw. I’m going to fight someone else on the 10th. Good luck on your old contract kid.”

Poirier cheekily responded to McGregor on Twitter simply with the word ‘OK’ along with a GIF of the moment he knocked out his lightweight rival earlier this year.

McGregor responded to that with a GIF of his own accompanied with the message ‘see you later pea’, reminding Poirier of the defeat he suffered when the pair first met in the octagon in September 2014.

Responding directly to Poirier’s tweet a day earlier about their donation dispute, McGregor then added: “My team does their due diligence to make sure every donation meets the mark. My generosity is known.

“You will pay with your brain for this attempt at smearing my name. Shooting ass shelling ass b****. Little b**** kicks from a shell.

“Good luck when you’re caught. You’re f*****.”

McGregor was knocked out for the first time in his MMA career in the second round of his UFC 257 bout with Poirier on Fight Island in January.

The pair had been good natured and warm towards each other in the build-up – with McGregor making his promise to donate to Poirier’s foundation.

With McGregor having won their first meeting, they had agreed to settle their rivalry with a showdown this summer – slated for UFC 264 at Las Vegas.

Now MMA fans will have to wait and see what the rest of the week will bring and whether UFC president Dana White will be asked to comment.

White is likely to speak to the media at some point given it is fight week and a middleweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum is scheduled for Saturday.
