Joshua Buatsi scores massive KO of unbeaten opponent who CRIES in the ring after suffering first defeat
Joshua Buatsi scored a huge knockout of Daniel Blenda Dos Santos to move to 14-0 (12 KOs) on Saturday night in Manchester.
The highly rated light-heavyweight prospect was worried for his opponent after the finish, but thankfully he made it back to his feet once he’d received medical attention.
Buatsi began the fight in command against his overmatched French foe.
However, the 30-year-old had never been beaten before and so was surprised to find himself on the canvas in round two.
The end came in the fourth as Buatsi smashed Dos Santos with a right hand that saw him collapse to the ground.
As he was on his way down, the ruthless Brit landed another solid punch which left him out cold.
Instantly, Buatsi was shocked by his own instinctive action and leapt back apologising for the final blow.
Dos Santos stayed down for a couple of minutes, but eventually recovered.
He cried in the ring and was comforted by his conquerer.
“I do hope he’s safe and healthy,” Buatsi said in his post-fight interview.
“We’ve seen unknown opponents come and they’ve beaten guys, so I took him very serious.
“Awkward for a few rounds, I just landed the shot at the right time.
“But most importantly I do hope he’s okay.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn said Joshua Buatsi will return to the ring on July 17 in America or July 24/31 at Fight Camp in the UK.
