Liverpool fan pleads Steven Gerrard to come back and work ALONGSIDE Jurgen Klopp, who’s ‘run out of ideas’
Liverpool fan Dave issued a plea to club legend Steven Gerrard after the Reds were knocked out of the Champions League: “Please come back.”
However, the Reds supporter proposed Gerrard could up sticks and work alongside the current Liverpool boss.
It’s been a tricky season for the Merseysiders, who have struggled hugely in their Premier League title defence and their draw to Real Madrid on Wednesday means they’re now out of the Champions League.
A few Liverpool fans have turned on Klopp this season and while Dave isn’t totally convinced about the German now, he doesn’t think he should lose his job, yet…
Instead, Dave has proposed a rather radical solution to ensure both Klopp and Gerrard would be at the club.
It would involve Gerrard leaving his post as Rangers boss, with Dave believing he’s encountering problems and has taken the Glasgow side as far as they can go, to become the no.2 of Klopp before eventually taking the reins.
“Jurgen Klopp has run out of ideas… with Steven Gerrard having problems with Rangers now off the pitch, Steven Gerrard please come back to Liverpool,” Dave said on the Sports Bar.
“What I want him to do is work alongside Jurgen Klopp until he leaves, whether it takes a few months or years.
“There needs to be a change and I just think Steven Gerrard belongs at Liverpool.
“He needs to work with Jurgen Klopp. I was disappointed when he left the under-18s, he was training and teaching them and I thought that was the way Steven Gerrard could have carried on his career at Liverpool.
“He’s won something with Rangers, he’s not going to do it in Europe for them! If he wants to win any European trophies he’s got to come back to Liverpool.
“So many people have been disappointed with Liverpool this season and I just feel there has to be a change. He’s got no idea when he brings on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xherdan Shaqiri, it’s no good… why bring on Diogo Jota so late, Sadio Mane’s clearly not up to it.
“If you’re listening Steven Gerrard, please come back to Liverpool.”
