The Duke of Sussex spoke extensively about his struggles with mental health in the series, The Me You Can’t See, with co-presenter Oprah Winfrey. Harry described how he and Meghan Markle felt “completely helpless” as royals, alleging they were met with “total silence or total neglect” whenever they asked for help.

Royal expert Daniela Elser has suggested that the Duke’s continuing attacks on the Firm are starting to become boring.

Writing in a column for news.com.au, Ms Elser said: “The presiding sentiment can be simply put down to this: Yawn.

“Ever since Harry and wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, opened up to Oprah in March, their denunciations of the Royal Family have started cropping up with a certain predictability that is now verging on the monotonous.”

She added: “Public sympathy, Harry may well find, is a finite resource, a fact made even more acute by the events of the past 15-month.

“Netflix and Spotify are not just ponying up vast sums of cash for the couple’s compassionate storytelling nous but for the fact that they will, supposedly, generate huge amounts of publicity and potentially subscribers.”

The royal expert also criticised Harry’s “harebrained audacity” to claim that his scathing comments on the Royal Family will lead to better relations.

During the Apple TV series, Harry said: “I like to think that we were able to speak truth in the most compassionate way possible, therefore leaving an opening for reconciliation and healing.”

Ms Elser added: “The lack of logic and self-awareness here belies belief.”

The royal expert urged the Duke to show “some sort of distinction drawn between him opening up about his suffering to genuinely help others and him seeming to vituperatively take aim at the royal family with regular, grim-faced abandon”.
