Rap star Bow Wow starts training for wrestling career with WWE legend Rikishi as he eyes showdown with Bad Bunny

There is a lot of history when it comes to celebrity crossover in WWE.

World heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has recently had a go, while his rival Anthony Joshua recently teased that he is tempted to follow his idol Muhammad Ali and enter the wrestling ring.

Bad Bunny, meanwhile, has recently made headlines as a crossover star coming to WWE and the latin-rapper’s enormous social presence and dominance in the latin market has made him a no-brainer.

For those wondering about Bad Bunny‘s popularity, he has over 48 million monthly listeners on Spotify, 29 million Instagram followers – which is more than WWE as a whole.

He also has 83 songs on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and is ranked number one on Spotify’s Top 50 Artist last year with over 8.3 billion streams.

Now, hip-hop star Bow Wow also wants to make the jump and he wants to actually face Bad Bunny.

On Monday, he announced he will start training with WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi.

“I have officially decided to train with my boy @TheREALRIKISHI at his gym in California to get ready for the @wwe. LOCKED IN.”

Bow Wow has been exchanging barbs with the likes of Damien Priest and Retribution on Twitter and seems laser focused on this next endeavour.

He is releasing his final rap album Before 30 in the near future and this certainly won’t hurt with the promotion of that album.

Many fans will remember some of the early hits Bow Wow enjoyed and in the past 10 years he’s been concentrating on TV and film work with nice roles in CSI: Cyber and Entourage to his credit.

But, at 33 years old, he’s going to start training to become a wrestler and WWE must be intrigued with this idea of rap stars duelling it out.

“I want bad bunny. But retribution jumped out on me first. Id love to bring them down 1 by 1,” Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, wrote on Twitter.
