Hafthor Bjornsson will fight former Commonwealth Games gold medallist Simon Vallily on Friday as he prepares to for his showdown with Eddie Hall later this year.

Thor will have his second exhibition fight and heavyweight Vallily, 35, is his next opponent on May 28.

His bout with MMA fighter Alex Simon was cancelled when he suffered an injury.

This is all to give Thor, who played The Mountain in Game of Thrones, some time in the ring before settling his rivalry with Hall in Las Vegas in September.

The two former World’s Strongest Men have a long running feud and have both been taking their preparation seriously.

They have shed a serious amount weight as they transform their bodies from strongmen frames to those resembling a boxer.

The exhibition fight is being held at the five-star Conrad Dubai Hotel with the fight card starting at 11am UK time (3pm local time).

On the undercard is unbeaten lightweight Anthony De Bruijin as well as Cameroonian super-middleweight Stephane Fondjo.

Jamie King, Murodjon Yokubov and Bader Samreen all in action on the undercard, before the massive showdown between Thor and Vallily.

talkSPORT.com caught up with Vallily last month ahead of the fight and he vowed to test Thor’s chin in the clash.

“We’ll see how much fight he’s got. You can shout about all the weights all you want, but if there’s no fight in you then you are going to get found out,” he warned.

“It will be interesting and I’m looking forward to unloading and testing his chin and I can’t wait to put some bombs on his chin and see how he handles it.

“It’s a little bit of fun and enjoyable. I’m just going to take it to a street fight and see how big his balls are.
